Beacon Preservation Applies for Acquisition of Penfield Reef Light
In January 2008, Beacon Preservation, Inc. submitted its official application for acquisition of the Penfield Reef Light off of Bridgeport, Connecticut.  We believe our comprehensive plan--which proposes complete interior and exterior restoration of Penfield to its original glory with controlled public access for cultural, educational, and recreational purposes—is aligned with the purpose and goals of the National Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000.  Though we have yet to hear of the final decision from US Park Service, we are confident in the merit of our proposal and will share  updates on the future of this lighthouse as soon as we have news.
