Penfield Reef [lighthouses]
Beacon Preservation Applies for Acquisition of Penfield Reef Light

In January 2008, Beacon Preservation, Inc. submitted its official application for acquisition of the Penfield Reef Light off of Bridgeport, Connecticut.  We believe our comprehensive plan--which proposes complete interior and exterior restoration of Penfield to its original glory with controlled public access for educational, cultural, and recreational purposes—is aligned with the purpose and goals of the National Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000.  Though we have yet to hear of the final decision from US Park Service, we are confident in the merit of our proposal and will share  updates on the future of this lighthouse as soon as we have news.

While we wait (with fingers crossed!) we want to thank our wonderful partners in lighthouse preservation and restoration who have pledged their support and provided letters of endorsement for our Penfield Reef Light proposal.  This impressive roster of non-owner partners in our Penfield Reef project  have committed to donating their time and products, expertise, and/or professional advice and services.  These partners include:
