Green Light Academy is one of many educational and cultural programs offered by Beacon Preservation, Inc. a nonprofit organization designed to promote environmental conservation, sustainable energy options, and “green collar” skills training through lighthouse preservation.
Mission in Life:  I recycle everything because I'm cautious of the next generation. I want my nieces and little cousins to have a clean future. I want them to be able to enjoy a clean beach. By recycling, I'm setting an example and educating those around me that we need to take care of our environment.

What you want to be:  I would like to be an oceanographer because I have learned that all our hazardous waste is effecting sea animals the most. My goal for the future is to study and help our sea creatures.

Hometown:  Bridgeport, CT

Community Involvement:  My dad has a school of Tae Kwon Do and we sell students water bottles. They used to through away the bottle in the garbage. Now we have a designated container only for recyclables. My dad and I talk to the students and inform them on how they can be more eco-friendly and be good examples in our community.

Why you would like to go to GLA Maine:  I would like to attend GLAME because GLA is like a family to me. I always learn new things that help me in becoming a better person. Through this program, I have learned to be a environmentally caring person. This has inspired me to pursue a career in environmental science. GLA has been a great experience.
